The biopic Phule starring Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa is set to release in theatres on April 11th marking the 197th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule.
The film is produced by Dancing Shiva Films, Kingsmen Productions and Zee Studios.
Directed by Ananth Mahadevan the film says the inspiring story of Jyotirao and Savitribai Phule a couple who fought for education and equality in 19th century India.
The film highlights their groundbreaking efforts such as starting India’s first school for girls in Pune in 1848 and fighting against caste and gender discrimination during British rule.
Director says the film as a heartfelt tribute to these visionaries and emphasized its importance for younger generations. He called it an immersive journey into history showcasing how the Phules shaped India’s future.
